Pride
Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate.
Pride is evil and God hates it. Yet, each June our nation celebrates Pride Month, an aptly named celebration of sin God hates. Even many churches join in the celebration. Just as the Corinthian church did many years ago, they are prideful over sin they should be mourning over. They celebrate evil.
It seems our whole society has jumped on the bandwagon in support of LGBTQIA+ ideology, so much so that it has become a form of idolatry. The new acronym is “D.E.I.” which stands for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Do not let those positive sounding words deceive you. D.E.I. is just a code name for LGBTQIA+ cultural, governmental, and corporate support. Towns all around us are having Pride events this month. Tennessee Valley Health Services is sponsoring a Pride celebration on June 14th at the VA Hospital here in Murfreesboro. Corporate American has been on the bandwagon for many years with companies like Target, Starbucks, and Amazon leading the way. I went into a local Kroger a few days ago and was greeted by a display of rainbow Pride balloons. The Boy Scouts now have a “Citizenship in Society” merit badge that supports acceptance of LGBTQIA+ lifestyles. The Girl Scouts are less dubious about it, offering an “LGBTQ+ Pride Month Fun Patch” as a reward to any girl at any level of scouting who attends a certain number of Pride Month festivities. Murfreesboro Central Magnet School offers its students the opportunity to belong to the “Gay Straight Alliance.” The Rutherford County school system gives their teachers professional development training in “LGBTQ Culture.” I tell you all this to show you the sin our nation celebrates is not in some distant place. It is here in our own community, and God hates it.
It is time for the True Church to speak up and stand up against this evil. Protect your church, protect your family, protect your home. Do not bow down to this evil as it permeates our culture. Do not be prideful over this sin; rather, humbly mourn over it.
Have a God Filled Week,
Brother Donnie
